Wednesday, September 24, 2014 :: Elizabeth Arden Flawless Future (And Success Legacy)

Since I was really young, I have seen my mom and aunts using Elizabeth Arden in their skincare routine and particularly their famous Green Tea perfume which my mom still has it today. So Elizabeth Arden is not a brand that is new to me. What is new and surprising to me is the way I have perceived this brand in the past and that I was wrong to associate it with older users. Having tried two of their key products, it is such a joy to slap on the moisture cream and Ceramide Flawless Future powered by ceramide caplet serum because they actually deliver a good load of moisture and provide luminosity to my face. Having a glowing complexion is what I constantly PURSUE after with the use of different skincare products and I can confidently tell you, not many products can provide enough hydration for my dry skin, especially my undereye and cheeks. The blemishes and discoloration on my cheeks get worse everytime after an episode of working under the sun due to the nature of my work.
It is also very sad to admit that at the age of 26 now, I am starting to see signs of aging and my skin tends to get dull easily if I skin a night or two of skincare. When I wake up the next morning, my skin will be dull and dry .
So I was really pleased to find out that Elizabeth Arden will be coming aboard to support the LIVE workshop happening really soon this Saturday, 27 Sept, from 10am to 3pm :*) They have prepared a luxurious goodie bag for all my attendees and I cannot be more thankful!

These 2 products are now included in my skincare routine and I have to say that the Caplet Serum helps to even my skin tone such that the redness around my cheeks which often surfaces after using facial scrub will be soothed and do not appear as red. Most importantly, my skin feels like it is being re-texturized such that upon running my fingers in an upward motion on my face, it is smooth and silky to the touch. The application of my makeup also glides on more smoothly and my laugh lines do not seem as prominent with every application. So thumbs up for this product!

This is going to be such a huge leap in whatever I am doing now – sowing where I want to reap a harvest. And I have been extremely blessed that partners and companies like Elizabeth Arden, Success Legacy, The Story Behind and so many more are lending me their support in the legacy that I wish to share and leave behind.
Cannot be more thankful and I hope to be able to share as much as I am able to and help as many aspiring individuals out there as I can! On this show, I will also be revealing the big changes to VGY so please stay tuned to the show and show me your support as I spread the goodwill of VGY all around the world! If you are unable to tune in, you may download the show which includes the presentation slides I have prepared and the bonus materials which I will reveal trade secrets in there. All these can be downloaded at a small fee and 40% of the proceeds will be going to Autism Association of Singapore for the #50for50 Sg Changemaker Charity Project.
Let us all do our part for the less fortunate! God bless your beautiful heart!

Thursday, September 18, 2014 :: All About VGY

It has been months  since the Great Singapore Sale held on 14 and 15 June over at Vainpot Boutique ended with goals met and targets achieved. It is with immense sense of satisfaction and appreciation that I pen down this entry to thank the team at Vainpot Boutique, VGY and MMTP who have all came together to make this sale happen.
We usually work up to our necks 2 nights before to shift cartons of clothes into Vainpot Boutique. This year was no exception. We actually only managed to leave the boutique at 7AM in the morning where we quickly freshened up at home with a bath and had to make it down at 9AM.

Li Young from Hilly Events hard at work

It wasn't easy getting out of the hectic shop to grab a photo at the photobooth courtesy of Ray Photography! Here are the kind folks from Hilly Events!

The night before is the usual scene of chaos and just….clothes and hangers strewn everywhere. This year was slightly different because we had the folks from Hilly Events over with us to do decorations in the boutique. You may consider looking for them to do up your place for a birthday celebration, a bachelorette’s night (yes I am considering!!), or even any large scale event you may be holding! The prices are pretty affordable I would say ;)

A big part of the success of this sale event can be attributed to Vainpot's intern, Yvonne Koh (Von for short as we have another Yvonne Koh in the office! What are the odds!) who had just joined us in May for a 3 months long stint. Many times, it was hair-pulling, fist clenching, table banging sorta' passionate emotions I experienced when Von was under my training haha. It was also my first time training an intern but this experience made me realize I actually like coaching and sharing my knowledge. Hm okay maybe not so much of the coaching (remember my passionate emotions) but more on sharing and making sure the people under my wing are able to learn and grow in the company.

This year's mega sale saw the participation of many brands who have given their support earnestly which I cannot be more thankful for. Refer to my previous post here for more details. Thank you so much for coming on board and you have all played a role in contributing to the success of this inaugural sale event! THANK YOU! :*)
Moving forward, VGY is moving towards a huge change coming this October. Would like to think that VGY is taking baby steps to achieve her milestones because she is learning as she goes along, and when you do that, you commit mistakes and you learn from them. There are companies who scale heights really fast but VGY is not one of them. This company is born out of my passion and passion is the driving force behind achieving milestones - not so much about the money, although I have been very blessed to be able to make a career out of it, but more about the love behind this brand. Which is why I am taking time to enjoy the journey.
Come October, there will be many changes to VGY which all goes towards building brand presence, brand image improvement, better corporate structure and working environment. Amongst them to name a few, major renovation underway for VGY’s very own brick and motar store, a brand new website and a fully equipped office. And I have to say, I am extremely blessed to be able to work with so many supporting companies who are coming together to make this happen for VGY.

For one, Success Legacy, founded by my lovely friends, Eve Pek and Moses, have been working hand in hand with me and The Story Behind to produce a not-your-ordinary fashion video for VGY AW2014 teaser. More on this when the video comes out later this month :*)
Onto Success Legacy, I will be coming onto this company’s platform to talk about how I turned my passion for fashion into a viable business. More about what I will be covering in the video below :)

It will be a first time for me coming out to share about my experiences and trade secrets in my line of work. I hope that by sharing my experiences, I can (once and for all haha) answer all the questions that I have been receiving in my email for the past 3 years on how I run my business. Just kidding. I am very supportive of start-ups and enterprising individuals as I have been one myself. I know how valuable it will be to be able to hear experiences shared by someone who has been there, done that. I may not be a good speaker but I will try my best to share everything that is important to know in this industry, the ups and downs I have experienced and how I achieve milestones.

Monday, September 1, 2014 :: Art Loft: 49 Going On 50

To break the monotony from the daily work grind, I took a break from a day of work by visiting (and supporting) local pride with the girlfriends at Art Loft who is holding their second pop-up event from 28 August to 4 September.

Set in a cosy, artist-run studio in TiongBahru, this historical backdrop is playing host to some amazing homegrown artist talents such as Sukeshi Sondhi, Chow CheeYong, Eeshaun Soh, Shin-young Park and Philipp Aldrup.
With the national's 50th big  birthday next year (hey we are half a century old!), it is about time where everyone should honour Singapore's past, celebrate our present and embrace the future which lies in the hands of our kids, the change-makers.

This artwork by Hans Tan who is a noted designer, curator and educator in Singapore with many awards and accolades to boot!

As a young business owner myself, I appreciate platforms which gives emerging talents a chance be it featuring their works,  or even a business opportunity. I even spotted a fellow dancer-turned-artist Eeshaun there!

Have time to spare this weekend? Make a trip down to this quaint space to view artworks from local artists. If you take fancy to a particular piece, you can even purchase the piece and hang it up for viewing appreciation! In fact, I have been visiting private art galleries to find the perfect nature landscape oil painting for my office in VGY workspace. I just find the right painting/artwork adds vitality and life to the living space otherwise what we wake up to daily would be the plain four walls (at least for me).
There will be artist talks between 6-8pm  to explain their works so try to catch one of them at that timing (just like how I manage to sneak a small talk with Eeshaun)!

Art Loft
82 Tiong Bahru, #01-21
Opens till 4 Sept!
Weekdays: 5pm to 8pm
Weekends: 10.30AM to 6pm

With Love,
Tricia
