Saturday, May 26, 2012 :: Review for L'Oreal White Perfect Laser!
I have been on a 14-day regime to test out the efficacy of L'Oreal's White Perfect Laser range after an invitation from Loreal to its launch event.
The selling point of this product claimed that "100% of the women who used this white perfect laser combo for 8 days would delay their planned IPL session" due to the effectiveness of this product range.
Now that really got my attention.
I was pretty intrigued during the hour long presentation on the effectiveness of this product range so I decided to stay on a strict 14-day regime to test out the products. I hope that this 14-day regime test is sufficient for me to give a honest review on these products!
To do so, I actually stopped using my usual skincare regime which includes products from Laneige, Curel and SK2.
On the left, all round protection whitening cream retailing at $32.90
On the right, anti spot brightening essence retailing at $39.90
The first step is to apply the anti spot brightening essence (tall bottle on the right). This product is known to lighten dark spots. I used to have pigmentation on my cheeks which gave me a natural flush (all for the wrong reasons) when I go bare-faced. It started to surface when I was around 15-16 years old. I realized that upon starting a course of supplements from Sato Hakubi, my pigmentation actually started fading away. I do not know if I can credit these Loreal products for the disappearance for my pigmentation as at the end of my 14-day test due to the interference from my oral supplements. However, my skin became visibly fairer and my pigmentation is close to 100% gone.
A visible result which I definitely see in the day (upon my first application in the morning after cleansing and toning) is a fairer and radiant complexion. The skin on my face is thoroughly moisturized and it appears dewy-looking - an end effect I like when I use my Chanel Vitalumiere liquid foundation.
This is the all round protection whitening cream which is slightly pinkish in color. I like that it contains SPF19 PA+++ as it provides powerful protection against the UV rays. I am not one who likes to apply sunscreen so I especially love products which provide UV protection.
I attribute the result of smoother skin, increased radiance and less visible pores to this magical product. I believe that with continued use, the condition of my face will definitely improve.
During the presentation, it was mentioned to us that it is recommended to use both products together as clinical trials of this range (tested on Asian women who were preparing to do IPL) made the test subjects use both products together. Tests were not done separately on each product. So I believe that both products actually compliment each other to a large extent!
On the other hand, from the company's perspective, they definitely will market the use of both products together so there is a possibility that using just 1 product on its own will also deliver the results it promised ;)
I was also given Youth Code Pre Essence and the people at L'Oreal seemed really confident about this product. Have you used it yet? Please let me know if you had!
Heard many people raving about this product at the event so I am going to start another 14 day regime on this product before giving my review.
We shall see ;)

Tuesday, May 15, 2012 :: L'Oreal Paris Blog Hop Contest!
I was invited to a press event organized by the good people from L'Oreal Paris last week on the release of their amazing new range of products which is in close relation to Intense Pulse Light (IPL). Sounds exciting? Haha it is indeed really exciting for me as I have been contemplating going for IPL on my face at Raffles Aesthetics for the longest time!
I am currently using this new range of products and will be blogging about it once I complete my 7-days regime so I can give an honest review on these products!
BUT FOR NOW, JOIN A CONTEST!
(you never know when you will get lucky!)
In this post, it will be a special contest for our readers where you have to BLOG-HOP to 4 other bloggers (under my team) to collect words to unscramble a phrase! So each of us (5 in total) will have a unique word which you will only know if you visit all our blogs!
My unique word is <Perfect>
Visit my fellow bloggers' blogs here to collect the remaining 4 words!
Contest ends 15 June 2012
YOU STAND TO WIN...
YOUTH CODE ESSENCE WORTH $39.90
I learnt about this amazing product during the press event which other bloggers were raving about. But I have yet to get down to sampling this product as I am using too many stuff on my face right now! However, I will definitely review this product at a later post once I complete a 7-day regime!
This product is well known for increasing your skin's absorbency power so your skin can receive the maximum amount of skincare products you apply on your face. Additionally, it is known for its efficacy of a brighter, smoother and softer skin at just 1 drop. Hmm, maybe I don't even need a 7-day regime to give my honest review on this product! ;)
Good luck on the contest!
Sending all my love to you! <3

Friday, May 11, 2012 :: Maybelline New York (Me) Party!
I don't know how things can happen that at my height, I got shortlisted to be 1 of the 8 models for Maybelline New York (Me) Party. Haha
And I, for a klutzy student accepted the job without knowing my last and final exam of my entire life is the very next morning of the event. Might as well I live my life haphazardly this manner teehee. I get last minute adrenaline rush and also learn and experience things which would have just slip away if I became a NO-girl.
Our call time was 10.30am in the morning. By the look of it, we were all pretty drowsy and dazed when we reached. I was struggling to stay awake as I was up studying the night before.
We each had 3 outfits. Classy, Fun and Daring.
There was no time for rest. I was in my heels the entire day with one rehearsal after another. When we thought it was finally time for a break, we were quickly ushered to have makeup done.
I think my hair grows at amazing speed. It was just a few weeks ago when John dyed my hair but you can already see my black roots from this photo!
Really love this girl, Audrey! She is so warm and friendly!
It was quite a chaotic scene backstage as we get closer to the event.
I have realllllyyyyyyy little hair (like this hairstylist commented haha) but everytime John manages to style my hair until it looks deceivingly thick!
See the notes I am hanging on to?
Was trying my very best to study for my exam but I was stuck at page 1 from the start till end of day
We heard at 8pm, the club was half full.
While we had our chaotic moments backstage, outside in Zouk, there were live makeup counters set up to provide free makeup services.
And just outside Zouk, they had an ice cream booth set up! I love soya ice cream! Felt so upset I missed this!
The crowd when the event was about to start
Opened the show with this outfit. It was such a terrifying experience to be the first to walk! But definitely one packed with adrenaline rush!
Just right before the moment I was due to walk, I was mopping around sadly while on standby. Suddenly overwhelmed with sadness that no one from the gang nor my friends were present to watch :(
One of my outfits styled by F21.
I was actually really scared of any fashion booboo here because I had to go sans panties for the skirt!
We had our eye makeup dramatized on stage for the 2nd outfit by a celebrity makeup artist.

In a span of few minutes, we had to run backstage, find our appointed fashion stylist, change clothes, change shoes, get makeup and hair done, look good in front of the roaming photographer before flying back to be on standby. No changing rooms so everything so open and you just have to be quick! It was so rushed I couldn't put it into words! But for an inner side of me full of energy and heart pumping adrenaline, it was so good to channel all this psychotic inner energy I had inside me into this MAD rush that night.
Our 2011 New Paper New Face winner. Jamie is such a sweet lady!
This pretty lady is a DJ from Taiwan who came by to Sg to spin at some clubs.
Agri from Agrivelt.com. And on the left, Tiffy.
For this outfit change, it was a complete disaster. My new hairdo fell when I was due to standby in 10 seconds! The poor hairstylist had to scramble to put together a new look.
Actually preferred the crazy first hairstyle for this outfit :(
Our IC and stage manager. I was beaming with joy seeing her in Marquis Toga Sleeved Chiffon Dress from VGY Kissjane! And so many complimented her on her outfit!
Took one last photo before I ran off right after the event to my BFF's house for an overnight mugging session! It was such a crazy day I could barely stay awake to study!
Thank you Maybelline for this opportunity!
Definitely loads of fun and so memorable!
